Judge Arnold Battiste, Lifetime Achievement Award

Judge Arnold Battise, a member of the Alabarna-Coushatta Tribe of Texas, a retired administrative law judge for the Social Security Administration, Office of Hearings and Appeals and a Navy veteran with more than 43 combined years of federal service was awarded the Native American Law Section’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the Section’s Annual Conference on November 2, 2007.

In graciously receiving the award, Judge Battise noted that “‘they only give you these types of awards when they think you are going to die, but I don’t plan on dying anytime soon.”
